During the workshop you will also be able to taste each kind of tea, learn about where it comes from, how it is made, and more. You will leave this workshop knowing how to distinguish each kind of tea and its appropriate occasion.
Gong fu means the art of doing something well. In the tea ceremony known as gong fu, the implication is that time, dedication and effort will produce an ultimate tea experience. The phrase is also spelled as kung fu, kung fu-cha or gong fu-cha.
In China, gong fu tea was considered a regional practice rather than a national one. People who have had the chance to travel to Chaozhou or to the Wuyi mountains sometimes were lucky enough to experience this way of drinking tea. They would write about it, highlighting that this is a practice unseen in other parts of China, even in the neighboring regions.
Now you have the opportunity to enjoy a ceremony of Chao Zhou Gong Fu Tea and learn how to practice it yourself. You will also receive $500 worth of tea and teaware to bring home to enjoy with your family and friends.
Although there are many steps in the gong fu tea ceremony, they are easy to master and they rarely take more than ten minutes to perform. Anyone can learn this wonderful way of enjoying tea.
This event includes a delicious Chinese lunch (included with tuition).
