New Offering: Community Acupuncture At Wu Healing Center Of West Hartford!
What is Community Acupuncture?
Community Acupuncture is a method of administering acupuncture in a shared space, conducted in reclining chairs rather than on beds. This is a more economical alternative to private acupuncture. If you have never previously tried acupuncture, it can be comforting to be amid others also peacefully enjoying their treatments.
What you can Expect:
Join us every Thursday between 1 and 5pm, beginning on January 4th. No appointment is necessary; simply walk on in.
There will be an intake form to complete, and then you will be guided to one of our recliner chairs. The process of needling will take about 15 minutes and the length of your treatment will be about 60 minutes in total.
Needles will be administered to your distal points (knees down, elbows down, head, feet, hands) only, as you will be fully clothed.
We offer a sliding scale of $30-50 per person.
Guidance on Preparation:
Wear loose fitting clothing that can be moved above knees and elbows
Enjoy a snack or a small meal a few hours before your session
Bring water or something to drink
Please refrain from wearing strong fragrances
What are the Benefits?
Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system, and the resultant biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. You may find relief from digestive issues or from back pain, as an example.
The primary purpose of community acupuncture is relaxation, and the more often you have treatments, the more the benefits will build up.
