Acid reflux, also known as Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a phenomenon experienced when the stomach acid (bile) move back up through the esophagus and irritate the food pipe lining. It can be mild or chronic, but symptoms usually include heartburn, pain in the chest, irritation or burning in the chest after consumption.


There are mainly 3 principles to curing acid reflux with diet/lifestyle change:

  1. Get off drugs/medications

  2. Consume warm food

  3. Avoid or eliminate cold foods


There is a common misconception that salads are "healthy" just because it can contain nutritionally dense greens, but when an individual consumes too many foods that cool down the stomach acid it can create an imbalance.

The body likes to maintain the temperature of stomach acid to about 100° F. When cold food enters the stomach the body works hard to cool it down. This imbalance is the main cause of acid reflux. To warm a cold stomach, Dr. Wu recommends a specific healing regiment that can be done at home:


  1. Get 1g of Wu Zhu Yu herbal formula (Fructus Evodiae) and mix with a high quality honey or saliva.

  2. Place this mixture in the belly button and cover with seal, sticker, patch or band aid (whatever works).

  3. Do this 3 days in a row and leave it in overnight for 8hrs.
