Patient Success Story on Viral Infections
Does this sound familiar to you? You wake up congested, your eyes are watery and puffy, and your throat is sore from coughing. You take a COVID test and it’s negative, but you still don’t feel well. You are exhausted because your runny nose and cough keep you up all night and you think to yourself – I need something to help me sleep!
You’re not alone – you may have a respiratory virus. According to CNN, the spread of respiratory viruses was the main worry over the 2022 holidays. If you were one of these unlucky individuals who got sick over the holidays – or if you are sick right now – we have some good news!
What is a Respiratory Virus?
As the name implies, a respiratory virus affects the respiratory system, which is the organs and tissues that are responsible for our breathing. However, a respiratory virus doesn’t just impede our breathing; it can affect our sinuses and throat as well as our lungs. Some symptoms include:
Congested sinuses
Persistent cough
Red eyes
Sore throat
Hoarse voice
Swollen neck
Fatigue
Fever
If you are afflicted with congested sinuses and a sore throat, you more than likely have an upper respiratory virus. Lower respiratory viruses affect the lungs and airways, making it difficult to breathe. These are much more serious and can be accompanied by a fever and, in more serious cases, a lung infection, chest infection, or pneumonia.
Anyone can catch a respiratory infection simply by touching a surface or shaking someone’s hand that is infected with the virus’s bacteria. This means respiratory viruses are highly contagious – they can easily spread from person-to-person through just a few respiratory droplets or minor contact.
How to Treat a Respiratory Virus
Treating a respiratory virus can be difficult because it is just that – a virus. Viruses do not respond to antibiotics, so usually you just have to wait out the virus and deal with it through over-the-counter pain relievers, drinking lots of fluids, and rest. This treatment is not ideal because respiratory viruses can be exasperating and last days or weeks. As noted above, they could also lead to more serious issues if left untreated.
So, what can you do if you have a respiratory virus? Are there any treatments that help deal with these symptoms immediately? Yes!
Natural Remedies for Respiratory Viruses
Our Founder, Dr. Ming Wu, has a natural remedy for fighting off anything from the common cold to more serious respiratory viral infections. In fact, one of our patients, Michele Vinson, recently thanked Dr. Wu for helping her fight her respiratory viral inflection – naturally.
Michele’s body recently picked up a horrible respiratory viral infection. According to Michele, her sinuses and eyes were extremely congested, and her eyes were blood shot with puffy lids. She also had a very deep, constant cough and her tongue was coated in a worrisome yellow color.
“I could never sleep and rest at night due to the coughing and need to blow my nose. Daytime was not much better,” Michelle explained.
After dealing with the respiratory virus for more than a week, Michele contacted Dr. Wu.
Dr. Wu told her something that was surprising – she was sick because of the heat, and because there were no herbal pharmacies in Michele’s area, he gave her a natural remedy sure to work. And, it was ingredients she already had throughout her home.
Dr. Wu told Michele to try a drink of orange peel and Asian pear. According to Michele:
“We cut up and boiled the peel of one orange along with one Asian pear in a double boiler with 16 ounces of water. We let the mixture boil for about 30 minutes, and this yielded about 12 ounces of the drink. We used this same fruit mixture and boiled it together again for a total of three times.”
Now, Michele would also squeeze the juice of an orange into the drink to cut the bitterness of the peel. But, this is just a suggestion that worked for her!
After drinking the natural drink for the first day, Michele saw a noticeable improvement in her health. Not only was she finally able to sleep undisturbed through the night, but her eyes were no longer red and swollen when she awoke the following morning. The phlegm began to release from her chest, and after three days her condition had greatly improved. The red swollen eyes, incessant cough and congestion were gone!
Michele is extremely grateful for Dr. Wu’s help and wanted to share her story to illustrate how Dr. Wu and the practitioners at FengYang Taoist Chinese Medicine offer natural remedies to fight even the worst viruses out there today. If you’re feeling ill, it isn’t hopeless, and you don’t need to seek conventional methods of over-the-counter or prescription pharmaceuticals.
So, if you’re one of the many individuals who is suffering from a respiratory viral infection over the winter months, don’t fret. All you need is an orange, an Asian pear, and some water – you’ll feel better in no time!
Patient Testoimonial:
My body picked up a respiratory viral infection. (Not Covid).
My sinuses and eyes were extremely congested. My eyes were blood shot with puffy lids. And I had a very deep constant cough. My tongue was yellow coated. I could never sleep and rest at night due to the coughing and need to blow my nose. Daytime was not much better. Because this condition went on for over a week, I contacted Dr. Ming Wu. He told me it was heat, and because there were no herbal pharmacies in my area to try a drink of orange peel and Asian pear.
We cut up and boiled the peel of one orange along with one Asian pear in a double boiler with 16 oz. of water. We let the mixture boil for about 30 minutes. This yielded about 12 oz. of drink. We used this same fruit mixture and boiled it together again for a total of 3 times. (Note: I would squeeze the juice of the orange and include it, to cut the bitterness of the peel, but you don’t need to do this. The peel is the remedy).
After drinking for the first day there was a noticeable improvement in my health. I was able to sleep undisturbed through the night. And upon awakening the next morning my eyes weren’t as red and swollen. And thephlegm began to release from my chest. After three days I was greatly improved. I no longer had red swollen eyes and no longer had the incessant cough and congestion.
Thank you, Dr. Wu.
Sincerely,
Michele Vinson
