Home Remedy for Hand-Foot-and-Mouth disease
Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is an illness that causes sores in or on the mouth and on the hands, feet, and sometimes the buttocks and legs. The sores may be painful. The illness usually doesn’t last more than a week or so. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is common in children. It can occur at any time of year but is most common in the summer and fall. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is caused by a virus called an enterovirus.
Here is a remedy that was handed down through generations in my home town in China. Mix 5 grams of white pepper ground and 5 grams of Wu Zhu Yu (Evodia Fruit, you can buy it at any Chinese herbal store or here). Take 1 gram of the mixed herb and make into paste using the child’s mother or father’s saliva. Apply the paste on KD1, and cover it with a bandage for 8 hours. Its effect should be seen in a matter of hours. Repeat as needed.
