All classes meet one Sunday per month from 9am-5pm from September 20, 2009 through May 16, 2010. Mornings will be spent learning TCM fundamentals (9-11am) as described below; afternoon sessions focused on learning Qi Gong (12-5pm)

In addition to class time, students will have assigned homework in order to qualify for the 100-hour Practitioner Certification.

Fee: $2,000
Location: Wu Healing Center,  17 South Highland St. West Hartford, CT 06119

2009-2010 Curricula
In addition to daily Qi Gong practice, each session will cover the following topics and will introduce herbal formulas, lifestyle issues and cooking secrets that help increase longevity and heal disease.

September 20: Yin Yang and Life Balance. You will learn TCM history, focusing on the principles of Yin and Yang and the relationship of TCM to Taoism.

October 18: The Five Elements in Everyday Life. This class covers the conceptual structure of the Five Elements (earth, water, fire, metal, wood). This was created thousands of years ago by the Chinese as a way to classify and describe the cyclical nature of life.

November 15: Twelve Meridians and Two Exceptional Vessels. This class covers the theory and physical descriptions of the energetic pathways that make up the meridian system.

December 20: Learning the Points. The sequel to the Twelve Meridians class in November, this session focuses on the classifications, energetics and locations of different meridian points (tsubos).

January 17: The Organ Systems. This class focuses on the roles and functions the different organs and their systems play in maintaining balance and good health.

February 21: Eight Principles and Six Pathogenic Factors. This class addresses the system through which the practitioner defines and views the indicators or symptoms of health and imbalance.

March 21: Secrets of Cooking with Qi. This class will focus on how to ‘energize’ food, water and herbs with the Qi developed during Qi Gong practice.

April 18: Herbal Formulas for Common Ailments. In this session Dr. Wu will share ancient formulas that he has used with his clients and family.

May 16: Final Session and Review. This session provides the student with a review, an opportunity to refine techniques and a discussion of business practices.
